A Thoughtful Approach to Financial Life
Modern Financial Wellness works with individuals, couples, and families who want more than traditional financial advice. Our clients are navigating real-life complexity—growing careers, family responsibilities, competing goals, and high-stakes financial decisions—and want a trusted guide to help them make sense of it all.
Working with us means entering a long-term planning relationship built around clarity, intention, and ongoing support. We don’t offer transactional advice. We provide a comprehensive planning experience designed to evolve with your life.
Who We're Built For
Modern Financial Wellness is intentionally designed for people in the middle—not ultra-high-net-worth family office clients, and not DIY investors looking for minimal support.
We work best with people who:
Are in their late 30s to early 50s
Are managing demanding careers and family life
Have increasing financial complexity as income grows
Feel overwhelmed, behind, or mentally taxed by money decisions
Want structure, clarity, and a trusted thinking partner
Many of our clients are “doing well” on paper but don’t feel organized or confident about their financial direction. That’s the gap we’re built to fill.
Planning for the World You Actually Live In
Most financial planning models were built decades ago for a simpler world. They assume people have linear careers, predictable incomes, plenty of time, and the emotional bandwidth to manage everything on their own.
That’s not reality anymore.
Modern Financial Wellness was built around a different understanding: financial stress isn’t a personal failure—it’s the result of living in a complex environment without enough support.
We differentiate ourselves by focusing on:
The whole picture, not just investments
Behavior and decision-making, not just math
Ongoing guidance, not one-time advice
Human-centered planning, not rigid templates
Our work acknowledges that money decisions are emotional, contextual, and deeply tied to real life.
The Personal CFO Relationship
When you work with Modern Financial Wellness, you’re not hiring someone to manage a portfolio—you’re gaining a Personal CFO. That means:
Ongoing planning, not annual check-ins
Proactive guidance throughout the year
Support as decisions arise in real time
Help prioritizing when everything feels important
Accountability and follow-through so plans actually happen
Your financial life doesn’t pause between meetings. Our support doesn’t either.
Flat-Fee Pricing
Our planning engagements start at $5,000 per year and scale based on income, net worth, and complexity, ensuring your fee always reflects the depth of support your financial life requires, not the amount of money you have invested.
Frequently Asked Questions
Who is Modern Financial Wellness best suited for?
We work best with busy, high-achieving individuals and dual-career families whose careers are advancing and whose financial lives have grown increasingly complex. As income rises, compensation becomes more layered, tax exposure increases, equity enters the picture, and family responsibilities multiply, many people reach a point where managing everything alone no longer makes sense.
Our clients are ready to delegate to a trusted personal CFO—someone who can coordinate strategy, guide decisions, and provide ongoing clarity across every part of their financial life. If you want more than just investment management and value thoughtful, relationship-based planning, we’re likely a great fit.
How are you compensated? Do you earn commissions?
We operate on a transparent, flat-fee model and always act as a fiduciary. That means:
- No commissions
- No product sales
- No hidden incentives
Your fee is agreed upon upfront, and our only job is to provide objective, unbiased guidance aligned with your goals.
Do you manage investments, or just provide financial planning?
We offer comprehensive financial planning and, when appropriate, ongoing investment management—always in service of your broader life goals. Investments are one part of the plan, not the plan itself. Some clients engage us for planning only, while others choose to integrate investment management into the relationship.
What makes Modern Financial Wellness different from a traditional financial advisor?
Traditional advisors often lead with products, portfolios, or account size. We lead with your life. Our approach integrates technical planning with behavioral finance, emotional awareness, and real-world life context. The goal isn’t just higher net worth—it’s clarity, confidence, and alignment between your money and what matters most.
What does it mean that you incorporate behavior and financial psychology into your planning process?
Financial decisions are shaped by who we are as people—where we come from, how we were raised, what we observed about money growing up, our cultural background, and our past experiences with success, stress, or scarcity. These influences form what’s often called a “money story,” and they quietly guide how we save, spend, invest, and make financial choices.
At Modern Financial Wellness, we intentionally bring this human perspective into the planning process because recommendations are only effective when they align with how you actually live and make decisions. By understanding what motivates you and where friction tends to show up, we design strategies that fit your real life—not just your spreadsheet. The result is clearer priorities, stronger follow-through, less stress, and a plan that truly works in practice, not just in theory.
What is a Chief Behavioral Officer, and why does Modern Financial Wellness have one?
Ashley Quamme, our Outsourced Chief Behavioral Officer, brings deep expertise in human behavior, financial psychology, and decision-making into the financial planning process. While traditional financial planning focuses primarily on numbers and strategy, Ashley helps us address the emotional, behavioral, and relational factors that often determine whether a plan actually gets implemented.
At Modern Financial Wellness, Ashley works alongside the planning team to help clients navigate money patterns, communication challenges, decision fatigue, and long-standing habits that can quietly undermine progress. This integrated approach improves follow-through, reduces stress, and helps financial strategies work in real life—not just on paper.
Do I need a certain investment minimum, income, or net worth to work with you?
There is no universal investment minimum, income, or net-worth requirement to work with us. What matters most is that you’re motivated to engage in the planning process and value an intentional, relational approach to money.
However, we do have a minimum annual fee of $5,000.
This ensures we can provide the depth of service, ongoing support, and personalized guidance our clients value.
A brief introductory call helps determine whether we’re the right mutual fit.
How does the planning process work?
Our planning process follows a clear, structured framework designed to give every client a strong, consistent foundation. While your goals, values, and decisions are personal, the process itself is intentionally standardized so nothing important gets overlooked.
We start by helping you gain a clear understanding of your current financial picture. Every plan is built on the same core pillars: cash flow, investment strategy, financial independence (often called retirement planning), protection planning (insurance and estate), and ongoing tax efficiency. From there, we address the additional areas that matter in your life—such as equity compensation, education planning, employer benefits, or any other decisions your circumstances require. The goal is simple: whatever your life demands, you have the guidance and support to make confident, informed financial decisions.
Where our work truly stands apart is in implementation and follow-through. In traditional planning engagements, most recommendations never get put into action. We don’t stop at delivering a plan—we help you prioritize next steps, remove obstacles, coordinate with outside professionals when needed, and stay accountable so real progress happens.
Once your plan is in motion, we meet regularly to track progress, update assumptions, and adapt your strategy as your life evolves. The result is not just a plan on paper, but a path forward that creates clarity, momentum, and lasting change.
What is the first step if I’m interested in working together?
The first step is a complimentary introductory call. It’s a relaxed, no-pressure conversation to learn about your goals, answer questions, and determine whether the partnership feels like a good fit—for both of us.
